$50 Currency Notes
The $50 Currency Note from the Republic of Texas is different for having symbolism that is mostly unexplainable while still maintaining the stand out geometric designs behind the denomination numerals. In the upper left hand corner, there is a vignette of Venus rising from the water while a sea serpent keeps watch. The central vignette is offset to the right, depicting a steamship being protected by a Naval ship with a lighthouse in the background. On the right side is a picture of Stephen F. Austin, the Father of Texas. The denomination marks on the bottom of the note are both in the lower corners with the geometric design around them in a square, while the top denomination marks are in circles, with the right one in the upper corner and the left one actually centered between the vignettes. As with the other notes, the wording for The Republic of Texas is on the lower half of the bill at approximtely the midpoint with the Lone Star of Texas centered on the bottom of the document.
